• How To Use Vehicle Spray Paint Masking Paper
  • Properly prepare the areas of the car to mask. The areas should be smooth, clean, dry and free from dust. Any dirt will compromise the masking causing issues during the painting of the vehicle. If the surfaces of the vehicle are not clean, masking tape may break off. Hot water and cleanser may not be enough to ensure cleanliness so degreasing products can be used to remove grease, oil and silicone from the body of the car. Sanding may also be needed to remove the previous finish and reshape body surfaces. Use thicker sandpaper grits on the damaged area(s) and lighter grits as you go.
  • Now it is time to apply masking tape around the masking area. Unwind the tape and apply it under the edges of the area you need to paint. Make sure to use only half of the adhesive surface of the tape, letting the other half stick out from the edge, ready to be used for the next masking step. You will need it to apply masking paper on the vehicle. For small and narrow areas, tape directly on the car.
  • Now, prepare masking paper or masking films for the protection of the surfaces around the area to paint. First, apply masking tape around the edges of the paper, letting half of the tape stick out; then, fit the paper on the car, matching the free tape on its edges with the one we prepared on the vehicle.
